Our Research Projects

DRACONS members are involved in a number of research projects, funded by national or international grants. We have a strong connection with other universities and companies, with which we are always ready to set up a consortium to participate to Horizon projects or to apply for other European calls.

DRACARIS

The project DecaRbonizAtion of Cement And iRonmakIng cycleS (DRACARIS) is founded by the EU through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRPP). The objective is the scaling up of innovative technologies for the carbon dioxide sequestration from waste gas streams of cement and ironmaking plants.

GRANT: 229.918,00 euros

ERNEST

The project EneRgy conversion technologies in a Network for Energy Sustainable Transition (ERNEST) is founded by the EU through the NRRP. The project is divided in different lines with the main objective of developing new technologies and propotypes for the energy transition of our community. GRANT: 919.674,00 euros.

ZEROIMPACT

The project Zero Emission waste pyRolysis recycle plant simulation mOdel: environmental IMpact Pediction and monitoring by means of drones and ArtifiCial intelligence algoriThm (ZEROIMPACT) is founded by the EU through the NRRP. The objective is to develop a simulation model of an electrified pyrolysis plant of plasmix coupled with a drones system for continuous environmental impact monitoring, control and prevention.

GRANT: 530.125,00 euros.

T-CAVBIO

The project Tecnologia termoCAVitativa per la produzione di BIO-olio (T-CAVBIO) is funded by the Regione Lazio (Gruppi di Ricerca 2020). The objective is to develop a large-lab scale residual biomass termocavitation plant (hydrodynamic cavitation) based on CFD simulation and preliminary experiments.

GRANT: 144.635,00 euros.

CATTURAEUSA

The project CArbon capTure sTorage and Utilization: Recovery of cArbon dioxidE from power plant flUe gas and re-utilization in the SAme cycle is funded by Sapienza University of Rome. The objective is the development of an experimental and model activity for the capture and reuse of carbon dioxide from flue gas derived from power plants.

GRANT: 14.000,00 euros.

COMEGIRA

The project COmputational fluid dynaMics study of rotating rEactive liquid in spinninG dIsk Reactor and stirred tAnk reactor is funded by Sapienza University of Rome. The object is to develop a CFD simulation model of a spinning disk reactor and a CSTR for the intensification of the production of nanoabsorbents.

GRANT: 10.000,00 euros.
